HISTORY

In 1921, in response to the occupation and de facto annexation of Georgia by the Russian Red Army, the football club “Bashi-Achuki” was founded in Kutaisi. The name was taken from the character in Akaki Tsereteli’s work of the same title - a figure distinguished by morality, courage, and perseverance, who became an emblem of the club’s identity and a source of pride for the people of Imereti from the very beginning.

The club managed to operate under this name for two years, after which it continued competing as the Kutaisi Football Club named after I. Kharabadze.
